Practice History

Nigel began the practice in Bideford back in 1979. It originally shared premises with a dental practice in Bideford High Street before eventually expanding and acquiring it's present site in Church Walk. The double-fronted Victorian house enjoys an attractive site and is centrally located close to Bideford longbridge. Access is via a pedestrian walkway adjacent to St Marys church from Bridge St car park (approx 45yds away).

Wooda Surgery Pilot Scheme

In 1997, the Wooda General Practice surgery at East-the-Water in Bideford undertook a pilot project with our osteopathic practice in Bideford. A total of approximately 65 patients took part in this scheme over a period of six months.

In essence, the Wooda surgery paid for a limited amount of osteopathic treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal problems, including neck, low back and peripheral joint pains. The patients were selected by the General Practitioners, and a full report was prepared on each patient after being treated at our osteopathic practice. At the end of the six months, every patient was sent a postal questionnaire asking about the outcome of treatment.

The results clearly showed that all the patients were satisfied with the treatment given, and with the outcome of that treatment. Furthermore it is important to note that, whatever the nature or severity of the condition, the average number of treatment sessions per patient was between three and four to substantially improve a patient's condition for a musculoskeletal problem.

Opening times: 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 12.30pm Saturday.
